On Wednesday night we decided to take the boys to their first baseball game. Here let me back up a bit to tell you what gave us this idea. Last weekend we had our annual choir retreat where we spend a Friday night and over half of Saturday practicing for weekly specials and for getting ready for the annual Christmas production which has been compared to an evening at the Fox except that it is free. Anyway, we always have drawings while we are there and the grand prize this year was 4 tickets to a baseball game on Tuesday night. Lo and behold, I won the Grand prize! Yeah, except for the fact that we couldn't go on Tuesday because Mike is the head of the St. Louis Writers Group and they were meeting that night. I also had some training up at church to attend. So we gave the tickets away to another family that has 4 kids. We then went to Mike's parents house to pick up the kids. We told them the story and they said here we have coupons for $5 tickets if you want them. We thought great we'll take the boys sometime this week. Mike bought the tickets online and off we went to the game. We thought, this will be really enjoyable for the boys, plus Mike and I haven't been to a game in eight years. We got there and were looking for our see seats when we asked a lady who worked there we found out that SRO meant standing room only section. OH! I guess if we knew more about the new baseball stadium we would have known that. We lucked out though and there were a few folding chairs and we parked in those. Now we are ready to watch the game. About 15 minutes after we were situated Cameron turns around and says, "This is boring." It seems that he didn't want to watch the game he wanted to play. Maybe it would have been better had Mike been a sports fan and watched sports ever since Cameron was little. It quickly became apparent to us that the boys were not interested in baseball at all. Oh, well! I guess that is not surprising. We stayed for four innings and then came back home. That was our first experience with the boys and a baseball game.

aww shucks!! that's pretty disappointing. But maybe when they can actually get into the understanding of it all it will work out better then.
Hey we had tickets for that game too. But we had to give them away. Our experience with taking the boys to sports has been similar to yours. Jake took the boys to a minor league game last summer. They made it through the whole game but didn't really pay attention. Daniel has been to a couple hockey games too. That was more action so it held his interest a lot better.
Out of all the years living here I have never been to the Cover Bridge Festivals. I'm not sure exactly what they all intale however it's something to do that's fairly cheap right? Unless you find a great item you want.
