After the cave tour came the REAL fun: the Canyon Flyer, the 3,400 foot alpine coaster down the mountain! Cameron and Daddy were all about that, but Garrett wasn't old enough, and for some reason, Michelle backed out as well (sweaty palms again).
From there, we drove to the trailhead for Hanging Lake. Just look at the optimism on everyone's faces! (Note: "optimism" is a Greek word for "short-sighted.")
Other couples pass us down the slope, and Daddy starts receiving comments like "Oh, man," "Whoa," and "Now that's hardcore." Some just shake their heads at Daddy and keep walking.
Even with the sore backs, aching feet, and sheer muscle fatigue of our uphill marathon, the view at the top was worth it. Now for the trip down...and that's when it started raining.
This was a day to remember. :)

Colorado is the greatest! The lake and spouting rock are well worth the trip up the hill. Even on old legs. Good job on the blog Dad. I hear that up-chuck is good for the hair!!!!!
